description : The end result of my group's senior hardware design project. A stereo component device with more options than you can shake a very big stick at. The device is able to play almost any audio format including mp3, CD, wav, aiff, wmv, voc, etc. The song files are stored on the internal hard disk, and CDs can be played or archived with the CD-ROM drive. Track information is displayed on the LCD screen, and plenty of blue LEDs were added for panache. LEDs were used for the power indicator and a "Knight Rider" style light show that glows from the bottom panel of the case. User control is possible through the front panel buttons, IR remote, or over a network/internet connection. My primary contribution to this project was everything hardware related (case design, LED circuits, I/O hardware), while my partners focused on software applications (internet, IR, LCD, archiver, and button apps). Check out the project page for a LOT more information, pics, and documentation.
